TMC announces 5 more candidatesThe Tamil Maanila Congress on Tuesday announced five more candidates in its second list, denying ticket to three members of the dissolved Lok Sabha and renominating two MPs. The party nominated former legislator Rajaram Naidu to contest from Krishnagiri, distrtict president Kovai Thangam from Pollachi and K Krishnamurthy from Mayiladuthurai. It renominated Adaikalraj from Tiruchirapalli and R Devadoss from Salem. The TMC is yet to announce its candidate for the Vandavasi seat. The Janata Dal had held talks with the TMC seeking at least two seats. It is not clear whether Vandavasi has been earmarked for it. Earlier, the party had nominated 14 members of the dissolved Lok Sabha. This includes all its ministers in the Union Cabinet -- P Chidambaram, S R Balasubramanian, M Arunachalam and Dhanushkodi Adithan. The TMC will contest 20 seats. UNI |
