Thackeray to end sanyas on Thursday

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray will come out of political hibernation tomorrow and assume charge of the party after a span of four months, according to the party newspaper Saamna.

Thackeray had announced his ''political exile'' in March this year as he was disillusioned by the wranglings within the party. He had maintained a low profile during the period, watching the political developments in the state from the sidelines.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi has expressed happiness over Thackeray's decision to end his three-month political hibernation and return to active politics.

Talking to the media after the weekly cabinet meeting, Joshi said he telephoned Thackeray in the morning and congratulated him for taking a ''good'' decision. The chief minister said, ''We will try our best to further enhance and speed up our schemes and policies to fulfil his wishes of a government that delivers''.

Thackeray had gone into a self-imposed political ''exile'' in March after expressing resentment in an interview in the party newspaper Saamna over the Sena's style of functioning, specially Joshi's leadership.
