5 Etawah natives win poll

Union Defence Minister and Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav's home turf Etawah district has seen five of its sons of the soil making it to the Lok Sabha.

Four of these Lok Sabha members, including Mulayam Singh, have been elected on the Samajwadi Party ticket and one as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate.

The five residents of this Uttar Pradesh district are: Mulayam Singh of Safai village from Sambhal, former Union minister Balram Singh Yadav of Bharthana from Mainpuri, Pradeep Yadav also of Bharthana from Kannauj, S P Singh Baghel of Dibiapur from Jalesar and former UP minister Sukhda Mishra of Etawah from Etawah.

Mishra, who has been elected on a BJP ticket, along with Pradeep Yadav and Baghel, are first-time entrants to the Lok Sabha.
