Government not worried over framing of charges in Ayodhya case

The government today sought to play down the situation arising from a special court fixing May 22 for framing of charges against 49 accused, including three ministers in the Vajpayee government, in the Ayodhya case.

''We are not worried about it," sources in the Prime Minister's Office said. "The Ayodhya case is a political one. Let us see what happens on May 22," they said, and added that the court may or may not frame a chargesheet against the accused.

Special Judge (CBI) J P Srivastava has fixed May 22 for framing of charges against the accused, including Union Home Minister L K Advani, Human Resources Development Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and Minister of State for Human Resources Development Uma Bharti.
