3 arrested for harbouring Coimbatore blast accused

Three people have been arrested in Vijayawada for harbouring five accused in the February 14 serial bomb blasts case in Coimbatore.

The police have established the identity of one of the five. The culprits, including a woman, were staying in a rented apartment in Vijayawada for the past few months. They escaped before the police closed in on May 16.

Official sources said the militant, identified as Siddiq Ali, carries a reward of Rs 200,000 on his head.

The police recovered two timer-devices, a wig, clothes, utensils and photographs from the apartment.

A special team has arrived from Hyderabad to supplement the efforts of the local police.
