STF submit report on politician-criminal nexus

The special task force of the Uttar Pradesh police, which probed dreaded criminal Sriprakash Shukla's nexus with certain politicians, has submitted its report.

Shukla was killed in an encounter recently.

State Chief Secretary Yogendra Narain said he is yet to examine the contents, after which he would place it before Chief Minister Kalyan Singh.

The report had raised a controversy in the state ever since a section of press claimed that the STF confirmed Shukla's links with certain ministers of Kalyan Singh's cabinet.

The chief minister, for his part, said the guilty wouldn't be spared.
