Bombay police to seek extradition of Dawood's brother from Dubai

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Bombay police will seek extradition of the Karachi-based underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's brother, Anees Ibrahim Kaskar, who along with 27 others was reportedly arrested in Dubai on charges of murdering a former aide, Irfan Gogha.

The Bombay police claim that they do not have any official confirmation about the arrests. "But if reports of the arrest are correct, and once confirmed, we will seek the extradition of Anees, who is involved in the serial bomb blasts," a senior officer said on condition of anonymity.

Anees and his close aide Sharad Shetty were among those arrested recently on alleged charges of murdering Gogha, who has reportedly parted ways with Dawood. Both Anees and Shetty are on the wanted list of the Bombay police. The deceased, Gogha, was also wanted by them for multiple cases. Newspapers, quoting intelligence reports, said Gogha's murder was masterminded by Anees, Shetty and Dawood's closest associates, Abu Salem and Chhota Shakeel.
