Cable operator murdered in Vijayawada

E-Mail this report to a friend

A cable operator was murdered by three unidentified persons at Rajiv Nagar in Vijayawada yesterday.

The police said the victim, P Srinivas alias Nagaraju (30), who used to provide cable connections in the area, had sold his business to two of his former employees due to financial problems. He later tried to restart his business again in the same area, but the duo objected to it.

Following the heated argument he had with his former employees, three unidentified men attacked Srinivas with knives and axes.

He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead, the police added.

This is the second such incident in Vijayawada involving the cable industry. Earlier, on September 19, Siticable chief P Ramakrishna was shot dead, allegedly by his partner D Seshagiri Rao, who is still at large.

The anticipatory bail petition of Rao, who carries a reward of Rs 200,000 on his head, was rejected by the metropolitan sessions judge on Wednesday.

Professional rivalry was stated to be the reason behind the killings of Ramakrishna and Srinivas.
