No truck with Kalyan: SP

E-Mail this report to a friend

Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh has said that his party would not have any adjustment with former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh till he continued to pursue his Hindutva agenda.

Speaking at a function in New Delhi today, Amar Singh said the party would stick to its secular principles and no compromise would be made on that count.

He said although during the Lok Sabha elections Samjawadi Party was painted as a supporter of Kalyan Singh, the truth of the matter was that it was the Congress which had helped the BJP.

He said it was the ''negative'' attitude of the Congress president Sonia Gandhi which had prevented a secular combination from coming to power, necessitating fresh parliamentary elections.
