Table women's bill soon: TDP

E-Mail this report to a friend

The issue of the Women's Reservation bill came up in the Lok Sabha again today with the Telugu Desam Party pressing for its early introduction. Yerran Naidu (TDP) told the government during zero hour that it should bring the legislation at the earliest as the main Opposition party (Congress) has already supported it.

Hanan Molla (Communist Party of India-Marxist) supported Naidu and said the bill should be brought in without any further delay. G M Banatwala (Muslim League) said the government should also come out with a legislation on reservation for other backward communities. Many Rashtriya Janata Dal members were also on their feet in support of this, but there was no response from the government.
