Pak helicopter violates Indian air space

E-Mail this report to a friend

A Pakistani Air Force helicopter violated the Indian air space in the Batalik sub-sector yesterday but flew back after Indian ground troops opened fire, sources said here.

The sources said the helicopter entered about three km inside Indian air space. They however, added that it could not have been a deliberate intrusion.

''The helicopter could have strayed into our air space and not deliberately intruded,'' the sources added.

Meanwhile, Pakistani troops continued firing artillery shells and small arms rounds on Indian positions from across the Line of Control in Kargil (Ladakh region), Kupwara, Uri, (both in Kashmir valley) and Poonch, Rajouri and Nowshehra (in Jammu region).

No loss of life was reported from anywhere.
