ATCs calls off stir

E-Mail this report to a friend

Air Traffic Controllers have called off their nationwide fast-unto-death agitation following talks with the Airports Authority of India management.

ATC Guild representatives, led by their president R K Singh, met AAI Chairman B K Gupta and senior officials who assured that negotiations on their demands would be started.

''In view of the assurances given by the AAI to discuss all the pending issues including the dismissal of air traffic controllers, the Guild is withdrawing its fast-unto-death stir with immediate effect,'' Guild general secretary Brijendra Shekhar said.

Shekhar is one of the six officers who was dismissed last month for leading the ATC agitation.
