Assam, Meghalaya rough it out

Day temperatures were markedly above normal in parts of Assam and Meghalaya, and were appreciably above normal in parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, central Maharashtra and of Tamil Nadu.

They were above normal in parts of coastal Orissa, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh.

They were appreciably below normal in parts of Haryana, Punjab and east Rajasthan, and were below normal in parts of east Uttar Pradesh.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh and west Uttar Pradesh from where the data were sparse.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in parts of Bihar plains, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan and central Maharashtra.

They were below normal in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, the plains of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, east Madhya Pradesh and in the remaining parts of west Madhya Pradesh and of Gujarat.

They were appreciably above normal in parts of Andhra Pradesh and were above normal in parts of Tamil Nadu and of coastal and south interior Karnataka.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunchal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir from where the data were sparse.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the country.

Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and at isolated places in West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Orissa, Bihar plateau, Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.
