Maharashtra gets two new districts

Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane has formally inaugurated two new districts, Gondia and Hingoli in Marathwada, on the 39th anniversary of the formation of Maharashtra yesterday.

He also released a booklet on Gondia brought out by the information and public relations department. Gondia has been carved out of the existing Bhandara district and has eights tehsils: Tiroda, Goregaon, Amgaon, Salekasa, Sadakarjuni, Deori, Arjuni-Morgaon and Gondia. This is the ninth district of Vidarbha.
