E-Mail this report to a friend

The police have seized 43 kg of explosives stored for making country bombs with the arrest of two persons at Vinukonda in Narasaraopet Lok Sabha constituency where elections were postponed to October 3 following the recent bomb blast in the residence-cum-clinic of Andhra Pradesh panchayat raj minister Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.

The police on a tip-off raided a grocery shop and effected the seizure and arrested Sankara Rao and Omkar, the bomb manufacturers at large.

In view of the above incidents, unprecedented security arrangements have been made for the October 3 poll, for the assembly and Lok Sabha, in the faction-ridden constituency, comprising the assembly segments of Macherla, Gurazala, Vinukonda, Narasaraopet in Guntur district and Cumbum, Markapuram and Darsi in Prakasam district.
