E-Mail this report to a friend

The Congress today said it would not even have a seat arrangement with the Trinamul Congress in West Bengal if it continued its partnership with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Replying to questions in New Delhi, party spokesperson Ajit Jogi said the Congress' stand has been that it would not have any truck with the BJP directly or indirectly.

He said the state leaders are now convinced that the company of the BJP is not good for them and the party.

Sources in the party said the discussions between the central party leadership and the West Bengal PCC chief A B A Ghani Khan Choudhary and other leaders were fruitful. AICC general secretaries Ghulam Nabi Azad and Prabha Rau met these leaders.
