45 of marriage party killed in UP bus mishap

At least 45 people were killed when a bus carrying a marriage party fell into a 250-metre deep gorge in Almora district last night.

The casualty toll, however, was feared to go up much higher as no one among the 60 passengers in the bus is believed to have escaped.

Bareilly range police headquarters said the Almora-bound bus was returning after a wedding from Ramnagar in Nainital district last night when the driver lost control and it fell into the gorge near Basauli village.

So far over 40 bodies have been recovered.
