E-Mail this report to a friend

Police seized 2,450 detonators and some explosives from two passengers travelling by an Assam-bound bus at Mohitnagar in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district early on Thursday.

West Bengal Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) P Mukherjee said that the passengers, stated to be residents of Dhanbad in Bihar, were arrested following the seizure after a search. The bus was coming from Bihar.

He said the duo were being interrogated to ascertain if they links with any militant outfit in Assam. The West Bengal police has contacted their counterparts in Bihar and Assam to facilitate the probe.
