Mobile phone service launched at Tirumala

J T Mobile Limited, a leading mobile phone service operator in south India, has announced the launching of its services in the temple town of Tirumala -- the abode of Lord Venkateswara -- in Andhra Pradesh making it convenient for pilgrims to stay in touch with the rest of the world.

Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams Executive Officer I V Subba Rao made the first mobile call from Tirumala on Monday. While at Tirumala and Tirupati, JTM subscribers can receive calls on their mobiles from Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Nellore at local call rates.

The JTM is presently operating its services in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Nellore and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh and in Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore in Karnataka.
