NCP corporator murdered near Bombay

Dilip Babar, a Nationalist Congress Party corporator in the Mira-Bhayender Municipal Council, was today killed by unidentified assailants near his residence in Bhayander, a suburb of Bombay. He was 30.

The Thane rural police control said the incident took place at 0930. Babar was attacked by five to six armed men after they called him down from his flat.

Babar's servant, Ram Maurya, was also attacked. He has been admitted to the Bhagwati Hospital.

Babar too was rushed to the Bhagwati Hospital, but was declared dead before admission.
