Minister unhappy with Alliance Air maintenanceCivil Aviation Minister Sharad Yadav Friday admitted there were certain failures in the maintenance Alliance Airlines fleet. Yadav, who arrived in Patna to re-inspect the spot where an Alliance Air plane crashed on Monday killing around 60 people, said he was not satisfied with the upkeep of Alliance Air planes and emphasised the need for better maintenance of the fleet. He said the ministry had ordered all airports in the country to check their crisis management systems every month. The fire brigade at the airports have been asked to be ready round-the-clock to deal with any eventuality. Yadav said the government would implement the recommendations of various inquiry committees which went into airplane crashes in the country. The Minister said Alliance Air would be organised in a better way and its expansion, pending since 1985, will be carried out in the next three months. The Civil Aviation Department, he said, is contemplating to add 11 more planes to the present fleet. UNI
