Basu takes ill, rushed to hospital

West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu today fell sick during a CPM central committee meeting in New Delhi and was rushed to a hospital, party leader Prakash Karat said.

Karat told PTI Basu felt "uneasy" during the meeting and told his party colleagues that he was fainting.

The veteran Marxist leader was immediately rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where is under observation.
