Maharashtra Legislative Council polls on July 24

Biennial elections to 11 seats of the Maharashtra Legislative Council will be held on July 24, the Election Commission said in New Delhi today.

The term of 11 members of the council ends on July 27.

The EC said the notification for the elections would be issued on July 7. The last date for filing of nominations would be July 14, while scrutiny of nominations would take place the next day.

The last date for withdrawal of candidatures would be July 17.

The polling would be held on July 24 between 0900 and 1600 hrs and counting would begin at 1700 hrs the same day.
