The income-tax authorities have denied that there was a raid on film producer and director J P Dutta's residence yesterday afternoon.

P K Sharma, Director General Investigation, Income-Tax, told rediff.com early this morning, "There was only a survey by directors of income-tax and no documents were seized at Dutta's office. We only took photocopies of some papers. It was a routine survey."

The survey came a day before his film Refugee's release.

He said that Dutta was not the only film personality whose house was surveyed yesterday. But, he refused to names the other personalities whose houses were surveyed.

He also refused to reveal which documents were photocopied and whether incriminating documents were found yesterday. "Let me meet the directors of income-tax who went to his place. Only then can I tell you that," he stated.

Dutta, busy with the film's premiere, also denied that his house was raided.

Refugee stars Amitabh Bachchan's son Abhishek and Kareena Kapoor.
