12 booked from Hyderabad on SA flight

A dozen passengers, including five women and two infants, all booked from Hyderabad, were on board the Singapore Airlines Boeing 747 aircraft that crashed at Taipei on its way to Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

Singapore Airlines office here Wednesday released the list of 12 passengers who had left by an Air-India flight (AI-422) from Hyderabad on Tuesday morning. They were transferred onto the SA flight SQ006 at Singapore for onward journey to Los Angeles.

"At this stage, the specific condition of individual passengers is not available. However, it is confirmed that one passenger (from here) is not injured," the Singapore Airlines statement said.

The passengers on board the ill-fated plane from Hyderabad are: Mrs Kuppala Neelima, Master Volam Akash (infant), Mr Volam Janardhan, Mrs Kommera Sangeeta, Miss Kommera Sneha, Mr Kommera Srinivas, Master K Sahil (infant), Mrs Ali Niazee Rabia, Mrs Noorjehan Begum, Mr Mohammed Moinuddin Khan, Mr Marellapudi Suryanarayana and Mr Koppaga Somasekhara Vara Prasad.

The travel agency that booked the tickets for Mohammed Moinuddin Khan and Mrs Noorjehan Begum, said both are in their mid-70s.

A Singapore Airlines spokesperson said that they had received several enquiries from worried relatives of the passengers.

"We are making arrangements for flying the close relatives of four of the passengers to Taipei," she added.
