10 more will fly to Taipei from Hyderabad

Even as "official" word on the fate of the dozen-odd Indian passengers of the crashed Singapore Airlines flight is still awaited, 10 more of their relatives are being flown from Hyderabad to Taipei via Chennai and Singapore on Thursday evening.

Special Officer (protocol) G Sadanand, who heads a special assistance cell at the Hyderabad airport, told this correspondent that 10 more relatives are being sent by a regular Indian Airlines flight to Chennai.

In Chennai, they would be picked up by the Singapore Airlines and flown to Taipei via Singapore.

Eight relatives of the Indian passengers have already been sent to Taipei.

"We have no word from Taipei -- either from SA or from the airport authorities. Nothing is still known about the 14 Indian passengers who were aboard the SA flight, barring one who is safe," the special officer said.

Families of a dozen-odd passengers booked from Hyderabad have now spent two days waiting for news of their dear ones.
