Madhavan has been unfair to me: Prabhakar

Onkar Singh in New Delhi

Fomer India speedster Manoj Prabhakar Tuesday alleged that the Board of Control for Cricket in India's inquiry commissioner K Madhavan has been unfair to him.

Madhavan, who conducted an inquiry on BCCI's behalf based on the Central Bureau of Investigation's report on match-fixing, has found Prabhakar guilty of maintaining links with bookies.

"The Madhavan report has been unfair to me," said Prabhakar as he emerged from a meeting with BCCI's disciplinary committee.

"The report claims that Jadeja had contact with bookies when he was playing, but I gave up cricket way back in 1996. How can you have two different yardsticks," said Prabhakar.

"I have some friends at a health club and they come and talk about cricket. But, how do I know, what they do and what they are up to?" he added.

Prabhakar said he would be disappointed if he is banned from playing competitive cricket. "I feel the CBI has tried to save somebody by naming me in the match fixing controversy. And that, I think, is unfair."
