Priyanka Chopra is Miss World 2000

Miss India Priyanka Chopra (18) won the Miss World 2000 title at London's Millennium Dome in London on Thursday.

This was the 50th anniversary of the Miss World contest.

The first runner-up was Miss Italy, the second runner-up was Miss Turkey.

The five finalists were Miss India, Miss Kazakhstan, Miss Italy, Miss Uruguay and Miss Turkey.

The 10 semi-finalists were Miss India, Miss Italy, Miss Chile, Miss Colombia, Miss United States, Miss Uruguay, Miss Kazhakstan, Miss Turkey, Miss Ukraine and Miss Kenya.

In the semi-final round, Chopra said that there was always pressure and she worked best under pressure, when asked if she was under extra pressure.

Miss World Yukta Mookhey 1999 was from India.

When asked what she would do if she won, she said she would like to influence people's thoughts and actions.

She added that she had already conquered the world.

When asked (a question from Miss Turkey) who is the most successful woman in the world today, she said Mother Teresa.

Just before the final announcement, Chopra said it was the best moment of her life.

Before the contest, Chopra has said that she aims to study Criminal Psychology.

It was India's fifth Miss World title.

India's Hemant Trevedi was one of the judges at the contest.
