7 bodies recovered on UP railway line

Seven bodies were recovered from the railway line between Sirathu and Athsarai stations on Monday night, creating a sensation in the sleepy Barain-kaa-purva village in neighbouring Kaushambi district, police said on Tuesday.

The bodies of four girls, one boy and a couple bore injury marks, but had no signs of being run over by a train. They were yet to be identified.

Police said they suspect that they were murdered elsewhere and their bodies thrown on the track.

Officials of the government railway police and civil police had reached the site and were preparing to send the bodies for post-mortem.
