7 bodies found on rail track identified

The bodies of seven members of a family, found on a railway track near Barain-ka-purva village in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday night, were identified on Tuesday evening.

They were identified as Rajaram Pal (40), his wife Kalawati (37) and their five children, police said adding that all of them were missing since Sunday last.

Rajaram, a resident of Gararia-ka-purva village, about 40 kilometres from the site where the bodies were found, reportedly had a long-standing dispute with his brother, police added.

The driver of a goods train spotted the bodies, which bore injury marks. He informed the Government Railway Police, which later informed the local Saini police.

The post-mortem report of the deceased were awaited, police said.
