Traffic jams were not restricted to the city's main thoroughfares, even smaller roads were choked with vehicles. The worst affected areas were: Borivali, Andheri, Chembur, the Eastern and Western Express Highway, Parel, Lalbaugh and some parts of Dadar and south Bombay.
