College duo arrested for killing 11-year-old

Both the teenage killers are students of the eleventh standard in a city college while the victim was a student of class six.

All the three were known to one another. The victim, Mohit Mansukhani, was in the habit of teasing one of the 17-year-old college students, which led to the murder, according to the police.

Police have arrested the two teenagers whose names are Naim Shaikh and Mushaf Taj Mohammed, both 17-year-olds.

Naim Shaikh, according to the police, had a crush on a girl. His friends in college used to tease him over his infatuation.

Mohit was aware of the affair and was also aware of the harassment faced by Naim in college.

The school boy also started ridiculing Naim Shaikh over his infatuation much to the indignation of the latter.

On Friday, Naim and his friend Mushaf Taj Mohammed decided to teach Mohit a lesson and they invited the school boy to go out with them for an outing on their bicycles.

The two teenagers took Mohit to a hillock on the outskirts of the city. After some time, however, Mohit started getting fidgety and demanded to be taken home.

He started making a scene attracting the attention of nearby villagers. Alarmed, the two teenagers strangulated the boy with a piece of cloth and made an attempt to flee.

However, the villagers caught the two after a chase and handed them over to the police.
