Rajnath sworn in as UP CM

Rajnath Singh was sworn in as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Saturday afternoon.

Thirtyfour cabinet ministers and 51 ministers of state were also sworn in.

A galaxy of central leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony. Prominent among them were Home Minister L K Advani, Communications Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and Civil Aviation Minister Sharad Yadav, besides Uma Bharati and Meneka Gandhi.

Also, present were Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.

Portfolios are likely to be announced later in the day.
