E-Mail this report to a friend

In a sensational case, the son of an Income Tax department official involved in the investigation into the fodder scam was abducted from Patna in Bihar and, subsequently, traced in Calcutta on Tuesday.

Fifteen-year-old Shakunt is the son of Vijay Sharma, Additional Director (Investigation), Income Tax department.

Shakunt is a student of the Gyan Niketan School. He was allegedly picked up from Patna on Monday and his bicycle was found abandoned near the Patna junction.

According to officials of the S K Puri police station, his guardian registered a case with the police on the same day. Subsequently, Vijay Sharma informed the police that his son had been traced in Calcutta.

The officials said Sharma had left for Calcutta to bring back his son. They said that a clear picture about the boy's disappearance would emerge after Sharma returns to Patna on Wednesday.
