35 feared drowned in boat capsize in UP: PTI

At least 35 people were feared drowned when a boat carrying them capsized midstream in a rain-swollen river in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday, police said in Lucknow.

The boat was ferrying over 40 people when it sank in the Peelakhar river, they said, adding that five people swam to safety.

The rest were missing and presumed dead, the police said.
