Mild quake rocks Shillong

An earthquake of mild intensity rocked Shillong early on Monday.

The India Meteorological Department recorded the quake at its office in New Delhi. The earthquake, with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale, was recorded at 0117 hours IST.

The epicentre of the quake was about 60 km from the seismological observatory in Shillong, the Met office said.
