8 killed and 6 injured in head-on collision

In a ghastly mishap, 8 persons were killed on the spot and six injured in a head-on collision between a lorry and a van at Kundegowdanahally, near Kallambella in Karnataka's Tumkur district, in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The injured had been shifted to a hospital, police said. They said the victims were travelling in the van.
