No rollback in price hike: Naik

Petroleum Minister Ram Naik on Saturday ruled out a rollback in the hike in prices of kerosene, petrol, diesel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas saying the government would not have taken the step if it was avoidable.

Reacting to resignations of Trinamul Congress leaders Mamata Banerjee and Ajit Panja from the Union Cabinet to protest the hike, Naik told Star News: "We have taken into consideration all factors and I do not think there is scope to reconsider the decision."
