Basic preparations for construction of
Ram temple completed: VHP

All basic preparations for the construction of the Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh have been completed and the only task left was to build a positive atmosphere for the work to start, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad said.

''The VHP would initiate programmes throughout the country from September to build a consensus for temple construction and the temple would be ready by the year 2002,'' VHP president Ashok Singhal said at a gathering at Karsewakpuram on Monday night.

Special pujas and yagnas in the name of Lord Rama would be performed by millions of devotees in about 200,000 villages of the country from November 28 to December 26, he said.
