Advani appears before Liberhan Commission

Union Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani finally appeared on Tuesday as a witness before the Liberhan Commission probing the demolition of the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya on December 6, 1992.

Advani's testimony is considered crucial because he, along with Union ministers Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti, has been charge-sheeted in the demolition case by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Taking strong exception to Advani's failure to appear before it on two previous occasions, the commission had last time held that he would be granted no further adjournments.
