Five of a family killed in
CNG cylinder blast

Five members of a family, including three children, were killed after a CNG cylinder of the car in which they were travelling exploded at Ambhaghat near Ratnagiri in Maharashtra, police said.

The victims were proceeding from Kolhapur to Ratnagiri when the explosion occurred at around 0400 hours on Monday, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Mukesh Patel (36), Kala Patel (30), Deepika Patel (11), Dhaval Patel (8) and Falguni (6), all residents of Nipani in Belgaum, Karnataka.

The bodies of the victims, charred beyond recognition, were later identified with information gathered through the number plate of the vehicle they were travelling, police added.
