Views:If Bangladesh had acted just becoz Sheikh Hasina had been tagged as "Indian Stooge", then this is the height of "scapegoatism". India has to certainly act tough and certainly our Indian soldiers lives are not that cheap. Bangladesh has to certainly pay for this gross misdeed. If India decides to go soft on this, it would create a bad precedent and would give Pakistan enough courage for another kargil like adventure.... It shud be better pinned in the bud...

Well, i think, what is needed is to build a image, image of strong nation. The current Govt' has made us so weak that even Bangladesh can think of attacking us. Well, they can do that because we are obsessed with showing restraints.

Views:The Indians should stop behaving like totally useless and terrified chickens and should at least kill 1000 of the civil and military of Bangladesh to avenge the lives of the Indian Soldiers who were martyred in the border skirmish. If PM cannot even do this bit, he should then be better off with daily prayers and resign and leave the post to someone who can take care of the Indian borders.

Views:Its appaling that we can tolerate such a blatant incursion on our side of the border.Having help create Bangladesh, supporting their cause in international forums, we get once again bitten by our neighbours.First it was the Pakistan misadventure that led to Saichen and now we have 16 of our beloved soldiers on national duty killed by Bangla forces. Its good to talk about restraint and diplomacy, but then in such times, we need more than sweet talk.We need to give a befiting reply to any nation or neighbour that transcends our goodwill and stabs us in the back. This cannot be tolerated by the Indian government and the Indian people.Where has our patriotism gone? Look at what strings and initiative the US took to get back their troops from the Chinese. Here we are taking a beating, getting humiliated and loosing our loved soldiers for no fault of ours as a law abiding nation. We need to seriously revamp our foreign policy and get a little aggressive if we need to become an Asian Tiger, or even a force to be reckoned with. Come on country menbers rise up and support the government o take the toughest possible stand against the Bangaldeshi govt.

Views:Its shameful for us Indians that even a country like Bangladesh feels bold enough to take over our territory. First is was Pakistan (in 1947) , then China (in 1962), then again Pakistan (Kargil) and now its Bangladesh. I guess, we are perceived as a 'soft' state. I am not surprised that Bangladesh has taken some of our territory. After all millions of Bangladeshis are already staying in India and would be occupying more land here than what Bangladesh Army has occupied just now !

Views:The overall Indian policy under BJP is a failure. The attack by Bangla Desh on India clearly indicates that the world sees the Indian government as very weak and inefficient. India must give a spontaneous and effective military response to Bangla Desh. Friendship with Bangla Desh is another issue and should not be mixed with war. Or else, tomorrow even countries like Bhutan, Burma and Sri Lanka will attack India. Indians are witness to the weak policy of Vajpayee government even in Kashmir. Scores of Indian soldiers and civilians are killed in Kashmir, but strangely Vajpayee is still sticking on to the cease fire.

Views:At the present, we should deal throughly as we are doing with pakistan ( who are ready to take chance of a situation). I see now difference Bangladesh and Pakistan. Bangladesh cannot be considered as a friend as being a neighbour(i doesn't mean that all neighbours are harmful, but you need to keep watch of neighbours all the time, though, they are friends). I can suggest that at the present situation should have been sent and teach a lesson to them. Unfortunately, the government at centre is feeling sleepy at the present situation. I sincerely advise to take appropriate action immediately.

Views:I'm not able to understand why is the Indian government taking a soft stand under such crises. Why does it want to show that it is an ambassador for peace? Havent we had enough with china when we used to say "Hindi chinee bhai bhai" & finally china attacking us? Its a sad thing that even after losing 16 of our brave BSF soldiers & our land to the bangladeshies the government is still talking of restrain & peace. Why dont we take drastic steps like the isrealis took when the hizbulla gurillas attacked their post & killed just 1 soldier? Here we have lost 16 of them.I think its high time for us to show our military might against a small & insignifiacnt country like bangladesh. I think with our might it will just take one day for our able army to drive these intruders away. This will also be a signal to the world that we are not going to keep quite when such a cheap activity is carried out by any of our neighbours. i think the army & the Air Force should make a joint assault & take back our land.

Views:The way we have been reacting to all sort of assaults may it be terrorist massacering civilians or hijacking of plane, it has proved that we are moving from a peace loving country to cowards. They come in our home, kill us, go back and claim it in international media, despite being highly outnumbered they plan to destroy entire india and put thier flag on red fort and despite of all this we keep on preaching stupid gandhian ideology. Its our projection of such coward image that even a country like bangaladesh which is 100% dependent on india, dares to invade us and kill the soldiers unprovoked. Its time to show bold gestures. No one respects a coward, our pride will come only through show of might. Instead of kowtowing each time against aggression and asking for diplomatic help from west, we should take proactive measures and launch a big assault to take back our land. The intensity of this assault should be enough to teach them a lesson and deter them from any such further misadventure. If we dont do it, next time it will be china then myanmar, nepal and even bhutan.

Views:It's been seen as a ploy by Hasina govt. to please anti-ndia factions in Bangladesh before the elections. But from the point of view as an Indian citizen i think it's the result of the softhandling ,on part of the Indian govt., at guarding the border with Bangladesh.Years after years a large Nos. of illigal migrants from Bangladesh are comming to India. The whole of NE and in particular Assam has been afected by this.Due to this the billion $ population control schemes end up nowhere in these NE states. There has also been news of rampant corruption on the part of BSF itself on the border, allowing Bangla citizens to enter India by taking petty sums of money.I think the center is not paying enough attention to this serious problem. The fencing work along the border is far from over even after a dacade.Indo-Bangla and Indo-Myanmar border are the main transit for ISI backed terorist organisations, now flourishing in Assam. These anti-social groups stand in dozens at this time alone in NE region.Unless govt. takes a strong position and treats it as an offence, Bangla govts. would continue with such ambitious venture just to please its anti-India ISI backed elements .The Indian govt. should stengthen the border security with bangla if the NE states are dear to her.Lest assam and the rest of NE states get added to bangladesh map.Hope its a well learnt lesson for India and few corrupt BSF personal on the border.

Views:Once again, we have shown the world that India is a Soft State. We are shamelessly talking about resolving an "act of war" by Bangladesh, in terms of diplomatic channels, etc. India will have to take bold steps. What prevents us from a massive artillery onslaught on the encroachers, and decimating them ? Our politicians need to awaken to the fact that apart from some hue & cry in the World, nobody will bother. At the same time, it will give a clear message to Bangladesh and the world at large, that India is no longer to be trifled with. A coward dies a thousand deaths. India need not be ashamed or frightened of oppobrium by others, and in fact learn a lesson or two from China and Israel. We are a great and strong nation - this should be the message !!!

Views:All talk of India becoming a 'nuclear' nation and therefore too powerful for others to fool around with has been laid to dust once again. Just like the Kargil war in May 1999, we have been shown that what matters is not nuclear status. It's the will to govern with a strong hand and a soft heart, which sadly the NDA-alliance lacks. Since they assumed power, our relations with the US may have improved, but it has worsened with our immediate neighbours. We ended up fighting a no-win war with Pakistan after 27 years and seem to be on the edge of another one (the first) with Bangladesh. Or is this an excuse for both ruling governments to sidetrack people's attention (the Tehelka expose in India and the anti-incumbency wave in Bangladesh)? Remember how the Kargil war had saved the NDA from a sure loss in the 1999 Lok Sabha polls? Its time the country got rid of this corrupt-communal government which cannot keep our borders secure and uses war and intrusion to stick to power. Shame on you Atal. You've been a major disappointment.

Views:we feel awful. first pakistan & now another like pakistan has tried to pin us down. t is unfortunate that we have been surrounded by nationa , which are playing on oue sentiments & trying their best to tarnish our international image. we should react strongly to their act by throwing them out of the occupied territory. inact, it is learent that they had been doing this for quite some time. what about the moral of our armed forces. we should teach them alesson once for all.

We cant let our Army men and Citizen wait for some high level meetings, when bullets and shells are whizzing past there heads.

Views:Sir, this can not be called as a misadventure, this is barbaric and sheer brutalism on the part of the bangladeshi forces firing at unsuspecting indian soldiers and killing them. more irritating is the home ministry's comments such as "calling the high commissioner to the office and submitting our protest and saying we are watching the situation very closely etc. etc..." is very indian, cowardice, submissive mentality and nothing more. It is high time we should take a tip from the israeli's...
