Rajasthan to name schools, hospitals, roads after freedom fighters

As a tribute to freedom fighters, the Rajasthan government has decided to name 175 schools, hospitals and roads in 18 districts after them, official sources said in Jaipur on Saturday.

A freedom struggle memorial building would also be constructed in Jaipur, it was decided during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, they said.

The foundation stone for the proposed building, where freedom fighters can stay, would be laid on November 19, the birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi.

Gehlot has directed that 'Samman' pension be sanctioned to those freedom fighters who had earlier not opted for it but were now willing to avail of the same.
