People can now inspect files in UP

To ensure transparency in its functioning, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to provide the facility of inspecting administrative files to the general public from September one.

Now a member of a public or business organisation with an Indian equity of at least 51 per cent, societies, trusts, institutions, NGOs and associations can inspect the files concerning them in the secretariat and in the directorates, Chief Secretary A P Verma said in Lucknow on Wednesday.
