Four terrorists among five killed in J&K

Four terrorists were among five people killed in Jammu and Kashmir, where ultras triggered two grenade explosions, wounding 14 people since Wednesday night, a police spokesman said on Thursday.

A grenade hurled by terrorists towards a security vehicle missed the target and exploded in the busy Maharaj Bazaar near Naaz crossing in Srinagar, injuring 14 people, including six women and two children, on Thursday afternoon, he said.

Terrorists hurled a grenade at a security picket at Alikadal in downtown Srinagar on Wednesday evening. However, no one was injured, the spokesman said.

Two terrorists were killed when security forces raided Mohra Bachai village in Poonch district on Wednesday evening, he said. The two were asked to surrender, but they opened fire and were killed in the retaliatory action. Two AK rifles, six magazines and a wireless set were recovered from them.

Two terrorists, including a Pakistani national, were killed in another encounter at Baroti of Rajouri district on Wednesday. One AK rifle, a pistol and some ammunition were recovered from them, he said.

Terrorists shot dead a government employee working in a school at Sharakwara in Baramulla district on Thursday, he said.
