Terming the situation along the LoC as 'tense', the sources said residents of Makri, Feer, Karali and Nab were told to vacate their villages and shifted to safer places following heavy shelling by Pakistani troops since Monday night.
However, no casualties have been reported from the areas hit by Pakistani shelling.
"We are on high alert and prepared for any situation," the sources said, adding adequate action has been taken to counter Pakistani shelling.
A top army officer, when contacted, said the situation was 'well under control'.
