Three youths rape quake-affected woman

A woman was allegedly raped by three youths in Jivapur village of Saurashtra region last week, police in Baroda said.

The woman, who was sleeping outside her earthquake-ravaged house, was dragged to a nearby dwelling by the three and raped.

The woman lodged a complaint at a police station in nearby Jodiya town. She has identified two of the accused and a case has been registered against them under sections 376, 506(2), 114 and 342 of the Indian Penal Code. Deputy Superintendent of Police Satish Verma has rushed to Jodiya town.
