Another body recovered from Bagdigi mines

A Bharat Coking Coal Limited rescue team retrieved one more body from the flooded Bagdigi mines near Dhanbad in Jharkhand late Friday night.

With this, bodies of five trapped miners have been recovered so far. One miner, Salim Ansari, was rescued on Thursday.

BCCL's Public Relations Officer Ramanuj Prasad said 24 workers are still trapped inside the flooded mine.

Rescue operations are underway and additional pumps have been installed at both the Jairampur and Bagdigi collieries to pump water out.

Prasad said the fifth body was recovered a little after midnight. The body was identified as that of cable man Shivcharan Tanti.
