Ram temple feasible in April 2002: RSS

A week before the much-hyped meeting of the dharam sansad (religious meeting) of saints to decide on the date of construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Friday said the feasible time for building the temple could be April next year.

"As per my assumption, the construction work could start only by 2002. In any case, the dharam sansad is the only capable body which can decide on it," RSS spokesman M G Vaidya said in New Delhi.

He said 'sacred' work like construction of Ram temple could start only on auspicious occasions - Vijaya Dashami, Ram Navami and Devothan Ekadashi.

"With Vijaya Dashami coinciding with Chaturmas , it is ruled out. Ram Navami 2001 is too early to organise people and Ekadashi in November is also untimely," he said.

Therefore, in all probabilities the 'only feasible' time could be April 2002.
