Vijayaraje Scindia still 'very critical'

The condition of veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijayaraje Scindia continued to be "very critical" Wednesday and she was undergoing dialysis as her vital organs like liver and kidney were not functioning properly.

Doctors attending on the 81-year-old leader at Apollo Hospital said that there was not much change in her condition as she was still in a coma, but her urea level had improved due to dialysis.

Describing her condition as " very critical", the doctors said she was on life support systems like a ventilator, IV drips and medication.

Scindia was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital on January 2 with meningitis. She is a known patient of coronary artery disease, diabetes, myasthenia gravis and chronic renal insufficiency.
